The Thunder Bible Challenge

As we begin a new season as the Dallas Thunder this is a time of new beginnings.   New family’s are joining, new players, maybe you have graduated to a new team.   New school year, new grade level.   In short we are being transformed from one thing to another.   Webster defines transformation as: to change in composition or structure, to change in character or condition.   Based on this definition, the God we serve is the ultimate transformer.   He makes all things new.   He is the God of new beginnings.   He transforms us into new creations at the moment we give our lives to Him and are born again.   Exchanges our hearts of stone into a heart of flesh.   If we allow Him, He transforms our lives, circumstances and even “bad” things by giving us beauty for ashes.    Hebrews 9:14 says in part:   How much more will the blood of Christ surely transform our hearts and lives.

All of us in the Thunder organization have the opportunity at this time of new beginnings to be transformed and to be transformers. To be used by God in a greater way to be agents of change individually, as families and as an organization.   As we begin a new season, let’s all make a determined effort to have a vision and plan for not only doing great basketball exploits, but to accomplish great things for God and for His kingdom here on earth.

Here is what I would ask of each of us:   Let’s start today by doing just one thing for someone you wouldn’t normally do.   Just one thing.   Don’t wait and don’t put it off.   Ask God right now about what one thing He would have you do.   Whether it is an act of service, a phone call to tell someone you are praying for them or talking to someone be it a neighbor, cashier, friend, team mate or co-worker about spiritual things.   Let’s just try it, players and family members, and see what God can and will do with just a little intentional effort.   Let’s get our bold on!

I think it will be awesome and what a testimony about the difference that is the Dallas Thunder.   I would love to hear from you!   GIGL3@yahoo.com

Grace and Peace- Chris Gigl
