Information Sheet
![]() General Information Dallas Thunder is a competitive basketball program for home school students, ages 8-18, in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area. We offer Boys and Girls teams at the 10 & Under, 12 & Under, 14 & Under, 16 & Under and 18 & Under ages groups, if the number of players allow. We also offer "family friendly" practices, where all teams practice for two hours, within a four hour window, at the same location, on the same days. There is no need to run back and forth across the Metroplex taking your players to practice and picking them up. Our Philosophy Dallas Thunder believes that player development is the cornerstone to every successful basketball program. We also believe that knowledgeable, dedicated and focused professionals best serve our priority of player development. To that end, Dallas Thunder employs a trained, skilled, Christian coaching staff. This dedication to your son or daughter’s basketball development makes Dallas Thunder unique in the homeschool, volunteer-parent coached environment. We believe your son or daughter deserves the best opportunity for success on and off the basketball court and we strive to give it to them. Our Regular Season Our Regular Season Program begins in September and runs through mid-March. Typically we play a 20-30 games schedule per team, depending on the age group. The Regular Season culminates with the post season, home school tournaments. Teams will participate in tournaments which offer their age bracket. For 2009-2010 those tournaments are:
Dallas Thunder offers a Spring/Summer Program that focuses on the development of individual and team basketball skills, agility, along with strength and conditioning training. This program typically runs from April through July. Other Opportunities Coaches are available, by appointment, for individual workouts if you or your player would like to put extra work into your player’s game. Players and parents are welcome to participate in the Dallas Thunder Outreach Program which is designed to serve the local community, as well as, develop teamwork and camaraderie among the players and families. There will be several Outreach opportunities throughout the year in which you can get involved, if you would like. These opportunities are not mandatory and do not effect your participation in other areas of the basketball program. Additional Information There is a separate fee for the Regular Season Program and the Spring/Summer Program. Regular Season Program Fees, supplemented by Participant Fund Raising, are all inclusive and are used to pay the following expenses: coaches' salaries, court rental for practice and games, uniforms and replacement uniforms, equipment, tournament registrations (Regular and Post Season), referees and administrative costs.
